Week 7 Term 1 update

COVID19 Update - Level 1

Principal’s Update 12 March 2021

Kia ora e te whanau - you did, and we are now at Level 1 from midday today, so please remember to follow the Alert Level 1 Health and Safety plans on our website - www.wesleyprimary.school.nz. Fountains will be operating and whanau are now allowed onsite - but please do continue to sign in and use COVID19 Tracer QR code.

Our kids enjoyed learning Rippa rugby (contactless) thanks to the Auckland Rugby Development team. We also had Chiefs Scrum half - Lisati Milo Harris coach our Takahe team which was very fun to watch. Thanks Whaea Sam and Tidah from AKL Rugby for organising such a cool experience our tauira this term.

Also, an invitation is extended to all friends and whanau of Wesley Primary to join with children and staff on Monday March 15th in a very significant  Maori Tikanga entitled ‘HURA WHENUA’ - (Turning of the soil) which signals the beginning of the exciting new build of our school. The turning of the soil is an acknowledgement of Papatuanuku – mother earth, as we seek her approval through the turning of soil, to erect buildings for the benefit of children, teachers, and parents of Wesley community.

There are two events, one at 6 am dawn service or 10:00 am with the wider school.

Lastly an update on Talanoa which will now be on 30th of March 2.15pm to 7pm at allocated time slots. School will close at 2pm on this day and we hope you will all come to support our tamariki celebrating their successes this term.

Nga mihi nui - Lou Reddy Tumuaki
