Takahe Market Day - Role play during Learning through play

 On 23rd March we will be having Takahe market day at school. We will be making stuff and selling on the day.

So we created a play market during our Takahe Learning through play to see what it looks like and feels like. We role played the roles of vendors and customers. We used words like bargain, discount and deal. We had a cash counter set up where customers had to pay for what they bought. We learnt to use money from our Maths money box and learnt to use $1.00 and $2.00 to buy the stuff at the market. 

We also had a good try collecting, counting and adding money.

It was so much fun. We are all waiting to our real market day on Tuesday 23rd March 2021.
