COVID19 Update 18 February 2021

Kia ora e te whanau,

A huge thank you for being courageous and resilient during this recent Alert Level 3 lockdown during this week.  Our students were really engaged online and connected with our kaiako regularly.

We are really excited and relieved to see you all back today at school as we moved to Level 2. I would appreciate it if all whanau bring their tamariki/children back to school to continue learning. We also acknowledge the hard work of Papatoe High school for contact tracing and testing all of their students and whanau, so please continue to use good hand hygiene, QR code and sign-in procedures in case of any future COVID19 cases in our community.

We now move to Level 2 - so please see Wesley Primary’s Level 2 Health and Safety guidelines on our website www.wesleyprimary.school.nz

Please ensure that students use hand sanitiser available at the gate and that you maintain social distancing when picking up and dropping off your children at the gate only. If you need to visit our school, please sign in and maintain 2 meter distance at our office. The gate O’Donnell Road is closed until level 1.

However if you are unwell or if you’re sick, stay home. Do not go to work or school. Do not socialise. If you have cold, flu or COVID-19 symptoms, call your doctor or Healthline and get advice about being tested. If you have been told to self-isolate you legally must do so immediately. Get tested if you have cold, flu or COVID-19 symptoms. Tests are free.

Hope to see all of our students returning to school soon and please get in touch if needed - 09 6209261.

Free Kai - Lunches

Our Ka ora Ka ako healthy school lunches programme will be running today and later this week. We are following strict Health Guidelines to distribute kai and use of hand sanitiser before and after eating. A special thank you to Mrs Saunders. the GTT teachers, Teacher aides who have set up this programme with “Eat My Lunch”

Skinny Jump Free WIFI

Skinny Jump is a programme designed to help more New

Zealanders gain access to affordable broadband at home; providing heavily subsidised connectivity to thousands of households at risk of being digitally excluded due to cost.  Jump is a flexible pre-paid service, offering 30GB of data for just $5, a quarter of the price of the cheapest commercial services available.

Because it uses Skinny’s 4G wireless network there’s no fibre or landline connection and no installation cost.  No credit references or credit checks needed.

The Skinny Jump modem will come with 30GB of free data for the first month, and the Ako Hiko Trust will give a further five months worth of prepay vouchers of 30GB each month. So in total there is six months worth of Skinny Broadband connection available. (Note families can top up with their own prepaid vouchers if more data is required at $5 per 30GB).

Please sign the consent form and return it to the office - we will be touch.
